Homicide Squad detectives are appealing for information following the discovery of a woman’s body in a laneway in Caulfield South early this morning.
Police were called to a rear laneway off Glenhuntly Road where the body of a female was discovered by a man on his way to work, just after 4am.
The death is being treated as suspicious and homicide detectives together with forensics specialists remain at the scene.
The woman can be described as Caucasian in appearance with dark shoulder length hair and was wearing a black and white spotted top and black tracksuit pants with a white stripe down the side.
Detectives have released an image representative of a tattoo found on the right hand of the woman, that has been described as an ‘infinity’ symbol, between the thumb and index finger in the hope this may assist them in identifying the woman.
The image released is not the actual tattoo.
